Bio

Although born with an inherent understanding of technology, Natalie Corridan-Gregg’s eclectic and ongoing story began in the realm of business management. Having majored in Business Administration at Springfield College and at Richmond College in London, she decided upon graduation to continue that path of study and immediately went on to Western New England College where she earned her MBA.

Once out of grad school, Natalie began her professional life in the office world, taking a series of operational and administrative managerial positions. It wasn’t long, though, until her technical bent began to take over and she found herself assuming the lead on any and every IT-related project that came through her office–something that was only supposed to be a small facet of her job. After a chance encounter led to a personal IT consulting gig, Natalie resigned herself to the fact that her career trajectory was changing course and began looking for her next opportunity.

Wanting to incorporate her business experience and managerial skills with her newfound IT aspirations, Natalie bought into a fledgling Novell shop. As the owner and general manager, she was able to learn much about Novell by observing and studying her talented technicians and, when things got busy, gain hands-on experience by building servers, pulling Cat 5 wire, or whatever else was needed. After only a few short years of running her own business and absorbing all the technical knowledge she could, Natalie’s IT acumen had grown to the point where she again was ready to take the next step in her career.

Now a marketable commodity in the big-league tech world, Natalie sold her share of the company and accepted an offer from data storage giant EMC to become a product manager–a position that again allowed her to fuse her technical prowess with elements of both strategic and operational management. Natalie remained and grew in this role for nine years–winning, last year, the w2wlink Boston Corporate Fast-Tracker Award–and recently moved up to become Director of Technology Analysis (she would love to tell you in this bio about all of the exciting developmental projects she’s overseeing as EMC’s new DTA except that, due to the secretive nature of the work, she’d have to then kill both of us).

Natalie’s tenure at EMC has seen much more than just her growth as an information manager/technician, though. Soon after joining the forty-thousand-plus employee company, she became an active member of its Women’s Leadership Forum. Having served eight times as the group’s president, and currently as an advisor, Natalie found, through the WLF, a perfect vehicle to indulge her passion for advancing women’s causes in the workplace. Joining the ranks motherhood in 2006, she has since used her influence within that group as a platform to launch a book and blog known as the Working Mother Experience – a collection of nearly 100 essays reflecting the individual experiences of working moms (and a few dads!) at EMC.

A proud wife and mother of one, Natalie also is also a member of La Leche League and the Downtown Women’s Club in Boston where she is able to further her love of women’s advocacy.
